SheilaBurnsYoga, LLC
A retired public educator (high school math teacher and middle school counselor), Sheila has always found fitness, in general, to be an important part of her self care routine. After trying yoga in 2014, however, she quickly realized that it offered benefits she'd never experienced from other fitness modalities. She made the decision to become a certified yoga instructor in the hopes of sharing what she's come to love about her yoga practice with others!

In 2023, Sheila suffered a serious leg break in a skiing accident that required multiple surgeries. In the time that has followed, Sheila not only leaned on what she'd learned about mindfulness and yoga to aid in her recovery, but developed an even greater respect for the Reformer Pilates machine as she used it to regain strength and ROM. She is Balanced Body trained and teaches Reformer Pilates as well. It will forever be a mainstay of her fitness regime!

What is vinyasa yoga?
What is vinyasa yoga?
Sheila teaches primarily vinyasa yoga. This simply means that we match movement to breath. Matching movement to our inhale and exhale sometimes serves to facilitate the movement but is also a means to strengthen the connection between our body and our mind. This has health benefits of its own. Sheila appreciates this same aspect of the reformer. Ideally, movement on the Pilates reformer is matched to the breath.
