About Us

SheilaBurnsYoga, LLC

A retired public educator (high school math teacher and middle school counselor), Sheila has always found fitness, in general, to be an important part of her self care routine. After trying yoga in 2014, however, she quickly realized that it offered benefits she'd never experienced from other fitness modalities. She made the decision to become a certified yoga instructor in the hopes of sharing what she's come to love about her yoga practice with others!

Sheila received her 200 level training from Lexington Healing Arts Academy and her 300 level training from Yoga Baum in Louisville. (E-RYT 200, RYT 500). She now has over 1000 hours of teaching experience on the mat and is passionate about helping clients find a practice that satisfies their needs....whether that is to reduce anxiety, to tone the body, to build core strength, to improve balance, to increase flexibity and range of motion ....or maybe all of the above!

What is vinyasa yoga?

Sheila teaches primarily vinyasa yoga. This simply means that we match movement to breath. Matching movement to our inhale and exhale sometimes serves to facilitate the movement but is also a means to strengthen the connection between our body and our mind. This has health benefits of its own.
